This is the fourth part of the Dr. Charles S. Finch interview, also the ninth and final installment of the Nile Valley Conference series. This episode begins with the multiple images of notable Egyptian figures.
Early in the episode host Listervelt Middleton asks Dr. Charles S. Finch to “describe the first human representation of Jesus Christ?” Dr. Charles S. Finch then explains the first four centuries of Christianity ideology. Dr. Finch stated, “some of the earliest forms of Jesus was among the Coptic people.” Dr. Charles S. Finch also describes an image of how the Coptic people of Egypt depicted Jesus. He then mentions the coin of Justinian which also depicts Jesus.
Dr. Charles S. Finch briefly discusses racism in ancient times he also discusses his personal religious journey and his road to being a practicing catholic at the time of the interview. Explaining that he was born and raised in the Catholic Church but eventually leaving and returning to the religion.
Later in the interview Dr. Finch stressed the importance of people knowing the history and origins of their religion. Dr. Finch says, “when the truth is out it forges itself into as people have said a two-edged sword.” Dr. Finch states this to prove his point that many people are afraid to see what he believes is true history.

Side Notes: Dr. Charles S. Finch graduated from Yale University in 1971 and Jefferson Medical College in 1976. He later completed his family medicine residency at the University of California Irvine Medical Center in 1979.
During the time of his interview Dr. Finch was an assistant professor at the Morehouse school of medicine in Atlanta, GA. He is a former instructor of African history and mathematics at the Commonwealth school in Boston, MA. Dr. Finch is also a board-certified family physician.
