This is the second part of the Dr. Charles S. Finch Interview and seventh installment of the For The People Nile Valley Conference Series.
During the beginning of the episode Images of different notable Egyptian figures are shown in the beginning of the episode. Listervelt Middleton then gives a brief introduction to the episode and then proceeds to introduce Dr. Charles S. Finch’s next topic.
The Egyptian Origin of Christianity. In this segment Middleton asks Dr. Finch to explain the concept of the celestial cross. Dr. Finch then proceeds to show an astronomical diagram which he correlates to the cross and crucifixion of Jesus. He explains a “Crucifixion” of the sun in the atmosphere or solar system.
Dr. Charles S. Finch makes it clear that he believes Christianity has been simplified and many subjects mentioned in the Bible have deeper meanings and connotations then perceived in today's Christian society. Dr. Finch then continues to explain more symbolic figures mentioned in the Bible in comparison to Egyptian culture.
Dr. Charles S. Finch states that people may believe he is trying to turn Christianity on its head. But he explains that he is “standing Christianity on its feet.” He also states there is a direct relationship between modern Christianity and the religion of Ancient Egypt.
Throughout the interview Dr. Finch continues to tell parallels between Christian and Egyptian stories.

Dr. Charles S. Finch graduated from Yale University in 1971 and Jefferson Medical College in 1976. He later completed his family medicine residency at the University of California Irvine Medical Center in 1979.
During the time of his interview Dr. Finch was an assistant professor at the Morehouse school of medicine in Atlanta, GA. He is a former instructor of African history and mathematics at the Commonwealth school in Boston, MA. Dr. Finch is also a board-certified family physician.
