Since 2008, Botany Bay Ecotours has been providing content-rich, experiential learning through ecotours, highlighting the natural and cultural history of the Lowcountry.
Following the tenets of ecotourism, the company strives to provide engaging environmental education that encourages change, while respecting the environment and giving back to the local community.
A longtime fan of public media, the owner of Botany Bay Ecotours, Meg Hoyle, says the decision to utilize SCETV and SC Public Radio in their marketing plan was an easy one.
“I’m an avid listener of SC Public Radio and want to do all I can to support it,” said Hoyle. “In fact, I had the privilege of meeting Rudy Mancke on Edisto Beach when I was 12 years old. To this day, I still look forward to listening to Rudy on Nature Notes.”
Fandom aside, Botany Bay Ecotours’ partnership with SC Public Radio also makes sense from an audience demographics standpoint.
“Our customers are life-long learners and travelers,” said Hoyle. “Whether they’re veteran birders and professional artists or families and friends who simply want to spend time together in nature, we find there’s a great deal of overlap between our customers and SC Public Radio listeners.”
