Roni Henderson
Roni Henderson is a filmmaker and former educator who has been in love with media making for nearly 20 years. Her first love is teaching, and for the past decade she worked to guide high school students in the fields of visual storytelling, broadcast media, production, and technical theater. She has experience in standards-based curriculum development, focusing mostly on social-emotional learning, literacy skill building, and visual storytelling. In addition, Roni has maintained a working artist practice as a filmmaker and photographer for nearly 20 years and continues to take photos, write, produce, and direct independent films. She holds an M.F.A. in Film/Television from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a B.A. in English/Secondary Education from the illustrious, Clark Atlanta University.
In her new role at SCETV, Roni will be responsible for production of education-focused content, fee-based production services for educational organizations and agencies, and oversight of MediaSCape studios - SCETV's new creative space designed to engage learners in content creation and STEAM activities. We're excited about the skill, experience, and enthusiasm Roni brings to the team and are sure that her strengths will complement our current pursuits and lend well to those we dream up together!
