Catch up on Education programming

Catch up with our recent terrific Education programming before you step into summer!

May was a remarkably busy time for our Education Productions team, and we are rolling into summer with more great programming to support our South Carolina educators and a triumphant award season, too!

Once again, our partners, South Carolina Association of School Administrators, joined us in the studio to film three expert lawyers offering insight into current legal issues pertinent to teaching and learning in South Carolina schools. Contact SCASA or your district for information on how to view this illuminating series, SCASA Legal Forum, to help navigate the laws that govern our work with young people.

SCETV field trips were in full bloom this May and our Ed Productions and Learning Experiences teams welcomed students from several SC schools to explore podcasting, scriptwriting, reporting, and more in our brand-new studio, MediaScape! Educators, if you are interested in an engaging and STEAM-filled learning experience in a real television studio, contact Brian Day, Director of Learning Experiences and Innovation, at etveducation@scetv.org.

Education Productions won big at this year’s Telly Awards! Carolina Classrooms, produced by Ed Productions veteran Karen Hermann, won both a Silver for the Student Journalism episode and a Bronze Telly for the Hip Hop in the Classroom episode. In addition, The Cool and the Strong, executive produced by Chief Learning Officer, Dr. Salandra Bowman, and produced by Ed Productions team member, Brooke Weekes, brought home a whopping 6 Telly Awards for Episode 1, “You Can!” Catch up on and share episodes 1 and 2 of The Cool and the Strong!
