South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) is proud to announce the launch of the South Carolina version of Skillionaires, a collection of interactive workforce simulation games designed to introduce South Carolina students to high-demand industries, career opportunities and training pathways within the state. SC Skillionaires was featured as part of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Day on Feb. 1, highlighting SCETV’s commitment to career readiness and workforce development in South Carolina.
In partnership with Skillionaire Games by skillsgapp, SC Skillionaires offers an engaging way for South Carolina students to explore careers in healthcare, life sciences, cybersecurity/IT and advanced manufacturing, aligning with in-demand career fields in the state. Through dynamic, real-world inspired challenges, players gain insights into various professions, learn about CTE tracks, and discover local post-secondary education and training options that can help them enter these high-demand fields.
SC Skillionaires games can be accessed on SCETV’s website and can be played as a mobile application, ensuring students can explore career opportunities anytime and anywhere, whether in the classroom or on the go. To further enhance learning, SCETV offers educators interactive lesson plans, quizzes from the game-based learning platform Kahoot!, and other resources that integrate career exploration into classroom discussions and activities on KnowItAll.org.
The partnership to create SC Skillionaires games underscores SCETV’s ongoing efforts to provide educational resources around workforce development to help prepare South Carolina’s future workforce for success.
