The 2022 Telehealth Program of Excellence award was presented to two school-based programs during the 10th Annual Telehealth Summit of South Carolina held in November at the Charleston Gaillard Center: the Prisma Health School-based Telehealth Program and the CareSouth Carolina School-based Telehealth Program.
CareSouth Carolina’s School-based telehealth program provides on demand healthcare to students, faculty and staff for sick visits and well visits. The program covers three South Carolina counties in the Pee Dee region. More than 15 schools are served by the school-based program.
“This is important to the state of South Carolina because as parents it's less missed work time for them; it brings access to healthcare where kids may not (otherwise) get the care that they need,” said Kaitlin Hughes, Virtual Care Manager for CareSouth Carolina.
