Slightly Wacky Aussie Doco (1986) | ETV Classics

Covering everything from the festival to Vegemite, the team led by Host and Producer Rick Sebak experienced Melbourne and tooled through the unspoiled bush on the Great Ocean Road visiting stops along the way including Port Campbell where they viewed the Twelve Apostles and the London Bridge rock formations. Their next stop was Port Fairy in Victoria where they took in the surfing scene, and more. On the last night of their 3-day road trip, they stayed in Hamilton near the Grampian mountains where they later met emus, kangaroos, and koala bears.

The crew returned to Melbourne to film the rest of the Spoleto festival and interview festival founder, Gian Carlo Menotti. In their time off, the crew experienced the culinary scene of Melbourne and learned about Moreton Bay bugs which are like our rock lobster. At the end of the festival, the travelers spent a day in ultra-modern Sidney, where they marveled at the Opera House and continued learning about the language, food (including Vegemite) and culture of Australia before heading back home to Columbia, SC.
