
During the month of March, South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) recognizes Women’s History Month with special programming that highlights the remarkable achievements women have made throughout history.
During Women’s History Month, SCETV amplifies female voices that drive culture and change by sharing stories and content across its platforms. These offerings celebrate the cultural, economic, social and political achievements of women who have impacted local and national conversations.

Additional programming celebrating Women’s History Month can also be heard on South Carolina Public Radio.
Below are just a few highlights from Women’s History Month programming:
- Discovering Maggie Smith: Look at the remarkable on-screen career of Dame Maggie Smith (1934-2024), one of Britain's most prolific actresses. Smith was a prominent figure in British culture for six decades. The special airs on March 21 at 8 p.m. (South Carolina Channel)
- Shaking It Up: The Life and Times of Liz Carpenter: Discover the inspirational story of an extraordinary woman who experienced and helped shape some of the most vivid moments and movements of the 20th century. Journalist, White House official, author, humorist, political activist, and feminist leader Liz Carpenter was often front and center where history was unfolding. Airs March 22 at 10 p.m. (ETV World)
- Fresh Glass: A deep dive into food, beverage and entrepreneurship with guests whose backgrounds and journeys symbolize empowerment, grit and perseverance. Join for adventures to wineries, breweries, restaurants and businesses created by women and trailblazers. Airs March 24 at 7:30 p.m. (ETV-HD)
- Jacqueline Du Pre: Genius and Tragedy: Introduced and narrated by Grammy-winning cellist Yo-Yo Ma, this program tells the story of Jacqueline du Pré and her enigmatic genius and one of the greatest cellists of all time. Airs March 28 at 9 p.m. (ETV-HD)
