South Carolina ETV (SCETV) will present a new digital series, Wild Wild South, taking viewers on an adventurous journey through the Southern wilds highlighting natural landscapes and unique wildlife. Hosted by wildlife camerawoman and filmmaker Hyatt Mamoun, the four-episode series offers a blend of nature exploration and humor, bringing audiences closer to the animals and habitats that define this remarkable region.

In Wild Wild South, Hyatt Mamoun invites viewers into the outdoors — the marshes, beaches, islands and forests in a digital shorts format. Collaborating with field scientists and sharing her infectious curiosity about the natural world, Mamoun blends wit and genuine wonder to create a fun, engaging experience for audiences of all ages.

Hyatt Mamoun is a young filmmaker and producer based in the American South. Her passion lies in sharing her curiosity about nature, and Wild Wild South offers a glimpse into her adventures, mixing science with storytelling and a bit of humor.

Each episode highlights a different corner of the Lowcountry, offering an intimate look at the region’s wildlife and ecosystems:

  • Episode One: Marshes and Beaches - In the premiere episode, Hyatt explores the beaches and marshes of the Lowcountry, uncovering the hidden lives of the animals that call these dynamic environments home.
  • Episode Two: Pinckney Island - Hyatt journeys to Pinckney Island, a haven for bird species, and encounters one of the tiniest animal friends she's ever met.
  • Episode Three: Barrier Islands - Braving stormy weather, Hyatt ventures through the barrier islands, revealing how these crucial landforms protect the coast and support diverse wildlife.
  • Episode Four: Maritime Forests - In the final episode, Hyatt explores the maritime forests of Hilton Head Island, introducing viewers to the fascinating critters hidden within the dense coastal woods.

The four-episode season will be released weekly, beginning April 22, across SCETV’s digital platforms, including scetv.org, pbs.org, the SCETV and PBS apps, Facebook and YouTube
