The South Carolina Council on Economic Education (SC Economics) invites K-12 educators to its Finance Forum to be held October 28, 2024.
The South Carolina Finance Forum is a premier event dedicated to enhancing financial literacy education for K-12 educators across the state.
The forum will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
Sponsored by the SC Jump$tart Coalition, this no-cost event is designed specifically for South Carolina teachers. It offers a unique opportunity to network with finance professionals and financial education experts, while exploring new trends in personal finance education. Educators will leave with a wealth of classroom resources, innovative lesson ideas, and the knowledge to better prepare students for real-world financial challenges.
Highlights of the forum include:
- Five concurrent breakout sessions covering topics such as budgeting, investing, and financial literacy games.
- Interactive workshops like the "Real-Life Budgeting Experience," presented by Founders Federal Credit Union, and engaging personal finance video lessons from Greenlight for Classrooms.
- Recertification credits, with teachers earning five credits from the South Carolina Department of Education for their participation.
- A complimentary lunch, resource giveaways, and networking with fellow educators and finance experts.
Teachers are encouraged to register early as space is limited. SC teachers may secure their spot by registering on the event website at scfinanceforum.org.
