The 2024 SC School Report Cards will include High School Student Success as a new indicator.

Report Card indicators are areas that South Carolina public schools are measured in. Each indicator is worth a number of rating points which contribute to the overall school rating of Excellent, Good, Average, Below Average or Unsatisfactory.

The High School Student Success indicator will measure if a majority of students at a particular high school have earned the required credits to be eligible for graduation in four years or if students have a successful outcome within five years of beginning high school.

Successful outcomes are as follows:

  • Earned a regular high school diploma;
  • Earned a GED; or
  • Earned the SC HS Employability Credential.

The purpose of this new indicator is to help identify if students are on track to graduate on time, as “on-track” students are more than three and one-half times more likely to graduate from high school in four years than off-track students.
