As we gear up for another exciting academic year, it is the perfect time to explore educational resources that can enhance learning both inside and outside the classroom.

Whether you are an educator or lifelong learner, these tools are designed to inspire, educate, and empower.

Here’s a roundup of some of the resources SCETV has to offer:

  • KnowItAll.org
KnowItAll features a wide assortment of media and lesson plans, created by South Carolina ETV with a variety of partners for preK-12. Educators can search by series, subjects, grades, or standards to find a wealth of resources to use in the classroom. Here are two highlights:
    • What’s Wild
Experience the wonder! Explore the spectacular! “What’s Wild” features South Carolina’s rarest wildlife and the amazing people who protect them. Most videos include lessons and quizzes that can be used for instruction.
    • Every Role Counts
Every Role Counts is a campaign aimed at sharing important information on critical career paths in South Carolina.
    • SC African American History Calendar
The South Carolina African American History Calendar is a 12-month calendar that profiles individuals from across the state who have had a positive, compelling impact on South Carolina and, often, across the country.
    • Kids Econ
In Kids Econ, you will find videos and lessons on how people spend and make money in their community. Lessons focus on learning about banks, goods and services, and wants and needs.
  • PBS LearningMedia
SCETV and PBS have curated FREE, curriculum-aligned videos, interactives, lesson plans, and more for teachers. Sample resources include:
    • Everyday Learning
Everyday Learning is the perfect resource for preschool classrooms. Learning does not take place only in the classroom. Children learn by observing animal friends in the backyard, discovering new ways to get moving, picking out shapes during a walk around the neighborhood, or critiquing a famous piece of art. Learning occurs naturally, every day!
    • Ken Burns in the Classroom
Ken Burns and his collaborators have been creating historical documentary films for more than forty years. Known for a signature style that brings primary source documents, images, and archival video footage to life on screen, these films present documents, images, and archival video footage to life on screen, these films present the opportunity to pose thought-provoking questions for students, and introduce new ideas, perspectives, and primary sources.
    • MASTERPIECE: Literary Drama
Presenting a treasure trove of videos from MASTERPIECE films, supported by essays and teaching tips, this collection offers innovative ways to access, understand, and analyze classic literature adapted for the screen. Watching these pivotal moments from award-winning shows helps us appreciate the power of film dramatization-and the importance of becoming a critical media consumer.
    • Odd Squad
Welcome to Odd Squad: the zaniest, craziest team of kid investigators around! This resource is targeted at making elementary-level math a fun, imaginative experience, mixing concepts like arithmetic and geometry with fantastical storytelling.

Learn and explore to get this school year off to a great start!
