In 2010, College of Charleston’s School of Business was welcoming 25 students into its inaugural 1-year, full-time MBA program. Less than 15 years later, the program is consistently ranked as one of the top 100 in the country by major business publications including U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg Businessweek and Fortune.
College of Charleston’s MBA has been nationally lauded for its commitment to diversity and inclusion. According to Ron Magnuson, executive director of Graduate & Executive Programs at the School of Business, the program brings a variety of students to the Lowcountry with roughly 70% arriving from outside of South Carolina. Notably, the school was included among the top 20 in the nation for diversity by Bloomberg Businessweek last year and, according to U.S. News & World Report, it has one of the highest percentages of female students in a full-time nationally ranked MBA program.
The school will blaze the MBA trail once again in January 2025 when the new Executive MBA program officially begins, the first of its kind in South Carolina. Mr. Magnuson says that the school is excited about the new option, created for rising executives and entrepreneurs.
When asked why College of Charleston’s School of Business chooses to support SC Public Radio, Mr. Magnuson shares that, “As a public institution, it is important for us to sponsor and support public media. We see a lot of overlap between our missions in their shared emphasis on education, connection and preparing individuals for their respective roles in society. Both SCETV and College of Charleston’s MBA program aim to enrich lives through education, whether it’s educating children and informing citizens in the case of SCETV or preparing future business leaders in the MBA program.”
