Online Screening and Activities
Think science might just save the day? Dust off your cape, re-design your mask and hero-up for our special family event celebrating the power of science and the human spirit. South Carolina ETV and the ETV Endowment invite you and your child to join us for a fun virtual screening of PBS KIDS' newest show, HERO ELEMENTARY, where kids learn to master their innate powers, like flying and teleportation, while exploring science along the way. We’ll teleport (as best we can online) to enjoy an early episode of the show, move and groove a bit with ETV’s Smart Cat and experience some science-inspired activities together. Send us a picture by Wednesday, May 20 of your child in their best superhero mask, and we’ll include them in the “Hero Elementary Yearbook” before the show! More details are available at registration.
ABOUT HERO ELEMENTARY: The stories in HERO ELEMENTARY center around a diverse group of super students, led by their quirky and enthusiastic teacher, Mr. Sparks. The team works together to help people, solve problems and try to make the world a better place. When their imperfect powers aren’t up to the task, they look to their other powers – the superpowers of science – to help them investigate, observe, make predictions and figure out a solution.
Technology note: This event will take place on OVEE, an online platform that allows us to share this preview, interact with families and share some activities. All participating children must have an adult with them to view the screening and interact with the activities and content. We will be providing more details in the following weeks. Hope to “see” you there.
