It was a brisk, sunny Fall afternoon as the ETV team and members of the community gathered at ETV Carolinas in Rock Hill on October 14th to celebrate South Carolina Educational Television's 60th Anniversary. As children ran around enthusiastically showing off their different face paint and arm tattoos thanks to Lisa Fay Face Painting, parents and adults were able to enjoy some live music while checking out the local vendors - Baker Farm, Rockin' Rags, and Lou Moon Candle Co. Ruthie's of Charlotte was there to offer lunch for the event, and guests were raving about their specialty southern meals. PBS/ETV characters even stopped by to join in on the fun! Adults and children alike were asking to have their pictures taken with their favorite characters. Children were smiling ear to ear as they hugged and hung out with Jet Propulsion, Word Girl, and Smart Cat. Smart Cat played catch with the children and was exercising and dancing his way around the event! Amanda McNulty, of SCETV's Making it Grow, also enjoyed meeting with fans and answering their questions about gardening. Many guests concluded their time at our mini festival with a tour of our facility. Adults enjoyed learning about the history of the facility and technology, while children were amazed to find out that if they pressed different buttons on the switcher, they could change the picture in the monitor! A huge thank you goes out to York Technical College for their assistance in event preparation and for allowing us to use their campus to host our event! Be sure to check out our photo album!
A Successful 60th Anniversary Celebration!
