South Carolina ETV and Public Radio's co-production of the live TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE has been nominated for a regional Emmy for Special Event Coverage. Congratulations to our staff, including Renée Layson, Aimee Crouch, Beryl Dakers, and Kevin Jordan. Host Dakers, with public radio and TV reporters on location around the state and the staff of the SC State Museum, provided live coverage on August 21, 2018 as a total solar eclipse occurred over South Carolina. Eclipse watchers could also use radio or apps to hear public radio narration of the event wherever they chose to watch. The broadcast was carried live nationally by the WORLD channel, and footage was included in that evening’s PBS NOVA special on the eclipse.
