South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) remains committed to delivering transparent, comprehensive and accessible coverage of the state’s legislative process. As the South Carolina legislative session began on Jan. 14, SCETV continued its tradition of informing and engaging citizens with live and on-demand broadcasts and streaming as well as expanded news efforts.

State House Today provides live coverage of the South Carolina House and Senate sessions directly from the State House in Columbia. Broadcasting every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on ETV World and streaming live on the SCETV website, this program ensures real-time access to critical debates, votes and decisions. Through this coverage, viewers gain a front-row seat to the legislative process, fostering transparency and an informed citizenry.

New this year, SCETV introduced The State House Gavel, offering State House reporting online every Tuesday through Friday while lawmakers are in session. Seasoned State House reporters Gavin Jackson, Maayan Schechter and Russ McKinney deliver timely insights into legislative actions, debates and discussions, ensuring South Carolinians stay informed about policies and decisions that shape the state’s future.

In collaboration with the South Carolina Legislative Services Agency, SCETV also livestreams legislative sessions and committee meetings, furthering its mission to provide comprehensive political and public policy coverage. Additional programming includes This Week in South Carolina, airing Fridays at 7:30 p.m. on ETV-HD, which provides a recap of the week’s top headlines, and the South Carolina Lede podcast, offering in-depth discussions on public policy topics statewide.
