Metal fabricators cut, shape, position and align different types of metal. They typically work for construction and manufacturing companies, while the metals they work with are used to build structures. But metal fabrication as Art-- can be-- a unique mode of artistic expression. Unlike sculptures produced through casting, fabricated sculptures are shaped and assembled by welding or by using fasteners-- resulting in large and technically complicated artworks.
