School may be out for the summer but the learning hasn’t stopped for young readers in South Carolina. Summer reading was officially kicked off with the event StoryfestSC. This was the 7th year the popular event was held by the South Carolina State Library.
The event was free to the public at the South Carolina State Museum. Children who attended received two books from the featured authors, Rita Williams-Garcia and Sophie Blackall. The event also included author book signings, face painting, storytelling, games, and character appearances from Smart Cat, Bob the Builder, USC’s Cocky, and the Clemson Tiger.
