According to ColaDaily, Walmart launched an online grocery pickup service on Thursday at four stores located in Columbia.
The free service is said to be popular with busy parents who will fill their virtual cart as they run out of items and then schedule a weekend pickup. It enables customers to pick up their items at their local Walmart store without leaving their cars.
According to the news release, the pickup service features 30,000 items. Top items include snacks, diapers, and large bags of dog food. Columbia-area Walmarts will also offer regional brands. All items are priced the same as it would be in the store.
There will be reserved orange parking spaces for customers picking up orders and a Walmart associate will bring the items to the customer's car.
Pickup services are available at the following Walmart Supercenter locations:
5556 Sunset Blvd., Lexington
1780 S Lake Drive, Lexington
10060 Two Notch Road, Columbia
1326 Bush River Road, Columbia
