TD Bank, which arrived in Greenville just over five years ago, plans to add 300 jobs to the town over the next year, reports The Greenville News.
The bank, which previously committed to 1,400 jobs at its regional service center located on Interstate 85, currently employs about 1,000 South Carolinians. The new jobs will bring TD Bank very close to its original goal.
In 2010, TD bank acquired Greenville based The South Financial Group and its subsidiary Carolina First Bank, to create a greater presence in the South. Its President and Chief Executive Officer, Mike Pedersen, expressed to The Greenville News that the area has proven to be a successful climate for finding talent and employees.
Greenville is the smallest but fastest growing of three TD Bank hubs, one in Maine and one in New Jersey, on the east coast.
The 300 jobs are on top of 250 auto finance jobs that the bank committed to its service center in November.
