"Friday At Bill's" is a story about music and it's also a story about a small business in transition. Bill Wells, founder of Bill's Music Shop and Pickin' Parlor, died in November 2011, and his son, Willie Wells, stepped up to run the family business, a musical institution for hundreds of bluegrass and traditional country fans throughout the Columbia area. Each week, Willie Wells shuttles between his wife and family in Nashville and the Pickin Parlor in West Columbia to help his mother Louise keep the shop running and the music playing on the stage. Willie Wells wants to build on his father's legacy, and is exploring Internet broadcasts of the bluegrass performances, among other ideas.
