The 17th Annual Native American Film Festival of the Southeast was held during the month of November in Columbia, at Tapp's Arts Center.
During four days, films by and about Native American and international indigenous people were screened and followed by a question-and-answer session with filmmakers who were able to attend the event.
The festival aimed to educate the community about contemporary Native American talent and issues, and also to provide a platform for Native Americans to share their stories, culture and traditions.
This year's event featured short films, feature films, student films, documentaries and music videos.
Honored films in different categories included The Mayan Connection: Lost Legacy of the Southeast, LaDonna Harris: Indian 101, Indians Like Us, Inner Healing, Across the Creek, Between Hell and a Hard Place, Spirit in Glass, Knowledge, Wisdom and the Traditional Mind, Cherokee Foodways, Angelphilia, and Salmon Spearing.
