Gerald Malloy withdraws protest in SC Senate-29 race

On Monday afternoon, Democrat Gerald Malloy, who served as the state senator for District 29 for 22 years, withdrew his protest against a recount that showed his Republican opponent, J.D. Chaplin, narrowly winning the race.

SC woman driving drunk who killed bride still in her wedding dress sentenced to 25 years in prison

A woman who admitted to drinking and who was driving well over twice the speed limit when she smashed into a golf cart, killing a bride who had just got married at a South Carolina beach, was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison.

Strong cold front for South Carolina for Thanksgiving, freezing weekend for many

Thanksgiving Day will be dominated by a strong cold front pushing through the Palmetto State. Expect a line of storms to enter the upstate region overnight into Thursday. A 'conservation milestone,' red-cockaded woodpecker taken off endangered list

Attributing the change to conservation efforts throughout the Southeast, South Carolina wildlife enthusiasts on Monday celebrated the red-cockaded woodpecker's official removal from the federal endangered list.
