Alex Murdaugh's murder appeal cites biased clerk and prejudicial evidence

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Lawyers for Alex Murdaugh are taking two paths to appeal his murder convictions for killing his wife and son, saying that a court clerk pushed a guilty verdict to jurors to sell books and that the trial judge allowed improper evidence like the disgraced South Carolina lawyer's financial crimes.

Census numbers show more people are moving to South Carolina from other states

New five-year U.S. Census trends show that more people are moving to South Carolina from out of state than before, but not all of the state is seeing big numbers of newcomers.
Greenville County saw the most residents from other states move in between 2019 and 2023.

Temperatures continue to fluctuate, another weak front arrives late this weekend

A cold front pushed across South Carolina on Wednesday, and we expect two nights with temperatures below freezing. Temperatures across the state will remain subfreezing, especially in the Midlands and Upstate, while the Pee Dee and Lowcountry lows will be between the low and mid-30s.
