Emily Bedenbaugh

ETV Commission- 2nd Congressional District, Columbia

Emily Brady Bedenbaugh is from Columbia, SC, where she currently resides with her husband, Jody, and two young daughters, Eloise and Barrett. She is a 2005 graduate of Duke University where she earned a B.A. in political science and a certificate in journalism policy and media studies from the DeWitt Wallace Center at the Terry Sanford School of Public Policy. Emily has worked in public policy and strategic communications for the South Carolina Office of the Attorney General; influential communications firm, Chernoff Newman, and SCANA.

Committed to community service and leadership, Bedenbaugh serves on the boards of the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (SCCADVASA), Riverbanks Zoo Society and as Governor appointee to Palmetto Pride. She has previously served on the board and as president of the Junior League of Columbia, Salvation Army of the Midlands, Prisma Health Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of Central South Carolina, the United Way of the Midlands Young Leaders Society and the Contemporaries of the Columbia Museum of Art. 

Bedenbaugh has been named an “Influential Women in Business” by the Columbia Regional Business Report for her volunteer efforts and listed by The State newspaper as one of its "20 Under 40.” She’s also a graduate of Leadership Columbia and Leadership South Carolina programs.
