Ellen Dunn
As the Director of Communications for South Carolina ETV and Public Radio, Ellen Dunn leads a talented team dedicated to promoting the agency's brand, programs, and events through a variety of internal and external communication channels. By fostering and harnessing their creative talents, Ellen works to tell the SCETV story, enhancing brand awareness and introducing South Carolinians to the wide range of award-winning programs and resources available on-air, online and in their communities.
Ellen began her career in broadcast television as an anchor for WBTW in Florence/Myrtle Beach. She later transitioned into public relations, joining South Carolina state government as part of the communications team at the South Carolina State Library. Ellen also served as Communications Manager for the South Carolina Department of Commerce before joining SCETV.
Her master’s thesis, which was published in the 2024 edition of Electronic News, explores the topic of risk propensity in journalists. The research examines whether younger, less tenured journalists are more inclined to take risks to advance their careers.
