Allison Summey
Allison Summey graduated from North Charleston High School in 1989 and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Newberry College in 1994. Following her graduation, she began her professional career as the Human Resources Manager at the North Charleston Coliseum, where she served from 1994 to 2000.
In 2001, Summey joined the South Carolina Department of Archives and History, where she played a key role in initiating and coordinating the tours of the historic HL Hunley submarine. She continued in this capacity until 2003, when she assumed management of her family business, overseeing operations at The Oaks Golf and Country Club. During her time there, she also served as a wedding coordinator, lending her organizational skills and creativity to countless memorable events.
In December 2009, Summey chose to focus on her family, becoming a stay-at-home mother upon the birth of her first son, Jackson. Her second son, Harrison, was born a few years later and is now 13 years old. Dedicated to her children’s education and community, Summey has been an active volunteer in their schools, contributing her time and energy to Christ Church School, Sullivan’s Island Elementary and First Baptist School of Charleston.
Summey lives on Johns Island, South Carolina, with her husband, Elliott, and their two sons. She brings a wealth of experience in leadership, coordination and community service to the ETV Commission.
