The South Carolina Council on the Holocaust hosted the 80th Commemoration of the Liberation of Auschwitz event on January 27, 2025 at the Pastides Alumni Center of the University of South Carolina. The featured keynote speaker was Chuck Todd, NBC Chief Political analyst and former host of Meet the Press.

"The SC Council on the Holocaust is an apolitical governmental entity that works hard to fill the mission assigned to it from the State of SC. Our mission is to provide Commemorative events statewide and to teach teachers to instruct their students about the facts and historical significance of the Holocaust. As such, we do not believe the political statements made during the benediction were appropriate for a standard-aligned educational resource and therefore requested that portion be removed from the final production."
