HERO Live Amazing Trade Shop Math Race

Colonial Williamsburg Electronic Field Trips have a new name … HERO Live! Designed to support American history education for 4-8th grade students, HERO Live!: The Amazing Trade Shop Math Race airs December 17 at 1:00 p.m. All SC schools can view on ETV’s SC Channel (SCC).

Using 21st century technology and dramatizations with re-enactors to play the roles of historical figures, the HERO Live! programs are correlated to standards, providing a compelling learning experience. This third program in the 2015-16 series highlights how math skills are needed, even centuries ago!

Colonial Williamsburg’s tradespeople help two teams of students in a race against the clock to help the Continental Army! Quirky “Professor Eddie” is back again, highlighting how students use their math skills to make shirts, bread, cartridge boxes, and more. Watch HERO Live!: The Amazing Trade Shop Math Race on December 17 at 1:00 p.m. on ETV’s SC Channel (SCC).

Plan to view other programs in the series: January 14, February 11, March 10, and April 14, 2016. ALL programs air at 1:00 p.m. on the SCC and SC schools have fair use rights to use for 10 days and erase within 45 days.

All SC schools may view HERO Live! with fair use rights. If your school would like “full access,” which entitles your school to receive the supporting teacher materials, and keep the recorded programs for life of the recording, plus have access to all programs/resources in HERO (History Education Resources Online) multimedia library, you may pay $50 per program to participate.
