The “Greatest Thing Done for Children”: A Science Teacher’s Testimonial and Upcoming FMU Events
Monday - March 17, 2014
The quote "greatest thing done for children" recently appeared in newspapers across the state and, upon reading the quote, Speaking of Schools started hunting down its origin. It came from Cathy Pons, a science teacher in Horry County School District whose students have recently become the benefactors of the school district's goal to put IPads into the hands of all students. Ms. Pons has a lot to say about how the use of the IPads has transformed learning in her classroom. You'll enjoy hearing this experienced, enthusiastic teacher whose students have become more engaged than ever in science subject matter. Also, Dr. Tammy Pawloski, Director of the Francis Marion Center of Excellence to Prepare Teachers of Children of Poverty will discuss the upcoming Research Consortium, the call for presentations at the annual Summer Institute and the Institute itself. Join us for our conversations on this week's Speaking of Schools!
