Highlights from the Constitution Day James Otis Lecture: Part 2
Monday - November 11, 2013
On this week's podcast, we conclude the Constitution Day program attended by high school juniors and seniors deemed "James Otis Scholars" by their schools. The discussion on the Second Amendment--The right to Bear Arms--is led by a USC Law School student and a lobbyist for the NRA. They pose two issues to the students: background checks on arms purchasers and the magazine limit for firearms. Both sides of the argument are presented, and at the end of the presentation, students voted on the issues in a mock referendum. Another interesting discussion on this week's Speaking of Schools!
