Clemson Your Day
As a public service to the state of South Carolina, Clemson University Radio Productions (CURP) has contributed radio and television programming to ETV Radio and SC ETV for over 13 years. This partnership began with weekly radio broadcasts and special editions of Just Ask Us in the late 1990s and developed into an award-winning Monday through Thursday noon-hour program called Your Day, which debuted on ETV Radio in September 2000.
Over the past eleven years, CURP has provided nearly 2,300 Your Day programs to the people of this state through its partnership with ETV Radio, along with dozens of ETV Road Shows simulcast on television and radio. With only three and a half Clemson University employees, Your Day relies upon many volunteer contributors to supply material for its magazine format and for its live call-in shows. These volunteers include Clemson Cooperative Extension personnel and University faculty, staff and students, in addition to members of the community. The interests of these contributors generate a wide variety of interview topics ranging from arts to agriculture, economics to entertainment, research to recreation. And our volunteers’ expertise is tapped in a unique form of listener-driven “talk radio” programs on nutrition and wellness, natural resources, entomology, pet healthcare, horticulture, technology, birding and natural history.
No two days are alike as CURP provides a mix of recorded and live programming—in the NPR tradition, but with a South Carolina flavor—to Your Day’s statewide audience of natives, transplants and travelers passing through.
