Upcoming Courses Offered by ETV Promote Literacy!
South Carolina teachers, schools and districts have easy access to renewal and graduate credit courses provided by ETV through Teacherline Southeast (renewal or graduate credit) and ETV Teacher Recertification (renewal credit only). Courses in literacy and reading instruction are available now!
Through its TeacherLine Southeast program, ETV is offering several reading and language arts courses from PBS TeacherLine this March and April, including An Introduction to Underlying Principles and Research for Effective Literacy Instruction (K-8, 60 renewal credits or 3 graduate credits, PACE approved). This online, structured course focuses on the fundamental principles that inform research-based literacy and reading instruction; provides an overview of the relationships among phonemic awareness, phonics, word recognition, vocabulary, and fluency; and addresses the literacy needs of ELL students and other struggling readers. ETV Teacher Recertification provides eleven courses in the content area of literature and language arts. Five are designed for teachers on the elementary level: Teaching Reading: K-2 Workshop, Teaching Reading: K-2 Workshop - A Library of Classroom Practices, Teaching Reading: 3-5 Workshop, Engaging with Literature (3-5), and Inside Writing Communities (3-5). ALL courses are for 20 renewal credits each. Registration for WINTER session is open through February 3 (session runs to March 20). Registration for SPRING I session opens February 21 (SPRING I session runs March 24-May 19). Courses self-paced and facilitated online in Moodle. $75 per course.
