In Our Schools: An Outstanding Online Educator and a School/Community Approach to Fitness

May 27, 1:30–1:57 p.m. Repeats May 29, 10:30–10:57 a.m. IMC (Unlimited rights) Join the S.C. Department of Education for this special program that celebrates an outstanding educator and looks at how Manning Primary School incorporates physical activity into their academic lessons!

Dr. Tracy Seiler, Latin Instructor in the S.C. Virtual School Program, was named as one of three finalists for the National Online Teacher of the Year 2012. We’ll learn why she loves being an online teacher and how she teaches Latin to students all across South Carolina!

Then, visiting Clarendon County just in time for “Physical Fitness and Sports Month” in May, we’ll see how local high school students have worked with Manning Primary School to build a 12-station fitness trail, helping teachers to incorporate physical activity into academic lessons.
