FREE Webcast—Project C: Lessons from the American Civil Rights Movement Episode 3

FREE Webcast—Project C: Lessons from the American Civil Rights Movement Episode 3

Presented by Alabama Public TV (APT), an interactive webcast entitled Project C: Lessons from the American Civil Rights Movement: Modern Day Civil Right Issues (Episode 3) is designed for students in grades 7-12. SC schools can register ahead to access the FREE webcasts on April 10 at 11:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-1:30 p.m. (EDT). The pre-produced content for both webcasts will be identical, but the live, interactive portion will be unique to each. Registration will enable you to access and participate in either one or both webcasts.

Project C is a three-year series of electronic field trips taking place throughout the civil rights fiftieth anniversary years of 2013-2015. The content will focus on the role of citizenship in a democracy through the study of historical events and examine the past to teach the importance of civic engagement in support of a humane, civil and just society.

A Teacher’s Resource Guide with an extensive array of resources that includes maps, timelines, lesson plans, videos, still images and more is available from the website where you need to register for access to the webcast, which is appropriate for students in secondary schools. You will find a link to the guide in the right column on the website.
