Explore the Visual and Performing Arts! Visit Artopia on Knowitall.org!

Artopia is a comprehensive Web-based arts experience covering the visual and performing arts. Artopia features areas for exploring theater, music, dance, painting, sculpture, and media arts. Each area contains videos of artists discussing their work, along with activities and a One Minute Movie about each art form! Visit and enjoy exploring the arts!

On Artopia, students can closely examine important works of art and take part in activities that teach about styles, principles and processes of each art form. Visitors to the site have the opportunity to write about the artworks online and view videos of professional artists at work. Students may exhibit their own artwork in a virtual gallery and communicate with other artists in an online forum.

In a special area for teachers there are downloadable lesson plans and classroom materials that tie Artopia activities to appropriate national and South Carolina curriculum standards. Artopia is a place where learning about the arts is participatory, educational and fun. We hope you enjoy your visit!
