ATTENTION…Big Changes Happening this Summer!
These announcements are also posted in the May eMedia Update.
Please tell all your schools…THANKS!!!
SC Department of Education’s New Office of Virtual Education Due to reorganization at the SC Department of Education, eMedia (ITV) is now part of the SCDE Office of Virtual Education, and most of the team members have been reassigned new duties.
SC Educational Television will continue to serve teachers and students by providing some of the services previously coordinated by SCDE’s eMedia team.
New OnePlaceSC – Website to be Simplified & Improved
Starting this August for the 2013-2014 school year, ETV will offer a simplified and improved OnePlaceSC website. The new web site will simply list qualified sites for teachers to search individually, and teachers will no longer need to sign-on.
Many districts used OnePlaceSC to access their local district Education TV portals. In the new upcoming site, applicable district portal links will be easily listed for teachers to access.
And finally, OnePlaceSC will offer an improved consolidated listing of teacher recertification courses, professional development and trainings. Teachers will be able to easily find the recertification courses, PD and training they need.
K-12 Instructional Media Channel Will Temporarily Shutdown Programming for the Summer
As a result of SCDE transition of their eMedia department, the type programming provided by SCDE on the K-12 Instructional Media Channel (IMC) will no longer be delivered after May 2013. To date, ETV has not decided the future of the K-12 IMC channel. We hope to offer a new service to start the new school year.
New Teacher Certification Website Coming This Summer
ETV has many courses and trainings that are accredited for teacher recertification credits, including graduate and technology credit. To make it easier for a teacher to find the professional development they need, ETV will incorporate all their offerings in one easy to use location.
Copyright Information There are several programs that were once provide through the old SCDE eMedia department that MUST be deleted or destroyed … SEE eMedia May Update to learn the ones that cease this summer.
