There are a variety of reasons why a show will leave the ETV Kids lineup. Ultimately, ETV will air the programs being offered by PBS and if a show is no longer offered it will be taken out of the schedule.
ETV is the state affiliate of PBS and directly broadcasts their lineup. So, when PBS changes their schedule it affects the ETV schedule as well.
We’re launching an exciting new series, CURIOUS GEORGE. CURIOUS GEORGE kicks off two hours of our best preschool shows every weekday morning now - including CLIFFORD, DRAGON TALES and IT’S A BIG, BIG WORLD. In between the shows, we’re featuring something new: a live host named Miss Lori. She’s a teacher, friend and role model. Through daily themed activities, music and movement, Miss Lori and her sidekick - a guinea pig named Hooper - will teach important life lessons, and inspire kids to explore the world around them, and express themselves creatively. You can learn more about the educational goals of this new environment at pbsparents.org.
Another benefit to the new schedule of back to back shows like this is that whether or not you watch with your young kids, you can feel safe knowing that they have a place that’s educational, engaging and fun and will be there for 1 or 2 or as many as 4 shows.
Curious George is the same Curious George that you may already know and love from the books. He also had his own movie this past winter, but our new TV series is based on the books. George is cute, curious and likes to learn new things. While he’s super fun and funny, his show also teaches lessons based in math, science and engineering principles-things like counting, using sounds and smells as clues and learning about how different foods change when you cook them. When we did research with more moms, and showed them one of the episodes, they told us they might like to watch with their kids.
