Fort Mill High School Student Featured on a National TV Series

Since seventh grade, Lexi Dressing has been tackling gender stereotypes as the only girl on her school football team. Now a junior, Lexi is the kicker for Nation Ford High School’s varsity team.

Lexi’s story was featured on the PBS series, Outside the Box. PBS Student Reporting Labs across the country were challenged to profile young people breaking down stereotypes. The story was produced by Sydney Miller, a junior at Fort Mill High School in Fort Mill.

Coach John McKissick

Coach John McKissick has done something football coaches across the country only dream about. As of 2012 he became the first American football coach in history to win 600 career games. McKissick now holds the record for the most wins by a football coach on any level.

Coach John McKissick knows a thing or two about winning. The Summerville High School Athletics Director and Football Coach just wrapped up his 60th year coaching and is only six wins short of a monumental 600th win.

Elizabeth Earle "Betsy" Rawls was born May 4, 1928 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She is a former American professional golfer. She won eight major championships and 55 LPGA Tour events in all. She is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
