On November 8, South Carolina, along with the rest of the country, will head to the polls to cast their votes.  The SC Election Commission released all the information voters need to be aware of on Election Day.

Q. I need to vote absentee.  Can I still do that?  What is the deadline to return my absentee ballot?  Should I return my absentee ballot by mail?

Trump with Lead in Latest Winthrop Poll

In the latest Winthrop Poll, Donald Trump is leading Hillary Clinton 42% to 38% in South Carolina. The poll was conducted before Monday’s presidential debate and 53% of the respondents feel Clinton is a capable candidate, while 46% feel Trump is. But, when asked if they felt each candidate was honest, 21% feel Clinton is and 32% feel Trump is.

“Human trafficking does present a threat in South Carolina,” says Marie Sazehn.

Sazehn serves as an Assistant Attorney General who understands the crime and its implications.

“A lot of times when people think of human trafficking, it is something they associate with big Hollywood movies, like “Taken,” or something that only happens overseas, to people that live abroad, or that are smuggled into the country.  However, I assure you that South Carolina citizens are trafficking South Carolina-born victims in our state.”

Gov. Haley Vetoes ‘Pork’ in Capital Reserve Fund

Last week, Governor Nikki Haley released her list of budget vetoes. While recognizing the positive budget items like funding for education, health services and law enforcement agencies, she took the legislature to task for allowing what she referred to as “pork, pet projects and earmarks.”

Among these earmarks vetoed were funds that would go to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Patriot’s Point Development Authority, Clemson University’s Garrison Arena Education/Conference Center, and tourism revitalization projects.

South Carolina ETV is broadcasting a debate between the Republican candidates for S.C.’s First Congressional District.  Incumbent Mark Sanford and challenger Jenny Horne will debate live from ETV’s Beaufort studios Monday, June 6, 2016.  The program will be carried statewide on all ETV stations and ETV's YouTube Channel.

Sanford has served previously as the state’s Governor.  Horne has served previously in the South Carolina House.
