Dear Viewers and Listeners:
Our SCETV Presents series A Chef’s Life begins its fifth season this month. Chef Vivian Howard takes a food truck out to surrounding areas to support her first cookbook and experience local flavors along the way. Beyond the Fields: Middleton Place delves into the history of the plantation near Charleston, exploring the lives and contributions of those who lived and worked there. Also not to be missed are new seasons of Poldark, Finding Your Roots, The Durrells in Corfu, and Shetland.
SC Public Radio is holding its “No Pledge Drive” Pledge Drive, asking listeners to support our programming without disrupting our normal schedule—giving you your favorite shows without interruption.
Our SCETV PBS Kids schedule is officially up and running! Now our youngest viewers can tune in their favorites any time they wish, enjoying our award-winning children’s programming commercial-free. See page 11 for this month’s schedule.
The ETV Endowment of South Carolina is celebrating its 40th anniversary this month. For four decades, the wonderful citizens of South Carolina have loyally supported the Endowment, allowing SCETV and SC Public Radio to provide the programming that makes us unique in the broadcasting world. We look forward to the next 40 years of successful partnership.
In closing, this will be my last SCENE letter, as I am stepping down from my position as president and CEO later this month, after nearly seven wonderful years at SCETV and SC Public Radio. It has been my honor to serve the citizens of South Carolina. I’d like to thank all of you, our loyal listeners and viewers, for your ongoing support of this great organization. The new CEO has been announced and I know I leave ETV in very good hands.
