A Chefs Life - Season 4 Premieres Sept 8

September is simply bursting with exhilarating programming and initiatives. We’re excited to bring viewers another new season of our award-winning series, A Chef’s Life, as Chef Vivian Howard continues to put her unique spin on Southern favorites while writing a cookbook, running two restaurants and raising twins! The dashing Ross Poldark is back in his much-awaited second season, facing threatening accusations.  Indian Summers also returns for a second season, now in 1935 in an Indian retreat for British colonials set in the Himalayas. And as a Labor Day treat, we are offering the ENTIRE six seasons of Downton Abbey, back-to-back, from Friday, September 2 at 9 p.m. until Monday, September 5 at 11 p.m.! For our younger viewers, our daytime ETV Kids schedule will run on ETV World on Monday.

As students are heading back to school, SCETV joins PBS for Spotlight Education, a week of special programming beginning September 13. During the week, Frontline, TED Talks, Craft in America, Time for School, and NOVA examine different aspects of education across the nation. Capping off the week, American Graduate Day (Sept. 17, 2 p.m. – 6 pm.) features celebrities who present stories of success in helping students earn their high school diploma; local programming segments feature a drop-out prevention program in Dillon, a migrant head start program in the small community of Lodge, and a Chinese immersion program in Cayce. Palmetto Scene looks at the state of education in South Carolina with State Superintendent Molly Spearman. Some of the topics discussed include school transformation initiatives, personalized learning in all grades, and family engagement. The series also spotlights a summer program where students throughout South Carolina are helping those in need.

SC Public Radio debuts the new series Classical Guitar Alive!, which introduces listeners to a wide range of guitar music, and includes fascinating background on one of the world’s most-played musical instruments.

Please enjoy our new series and specials this month, which we could not provide without your generous continued support!
