Youth Leadership Academy Facilitators Needed

Coastal Carolina University Youth Leadership Academy

For the ninth year the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the Jefferson Awards Foundation and Leadership Grand Strand, will be holding the annual Youth Leadership Academy on March 7 from 8:30 am-2 pm at Coastal Carolina University.  Students will participate in hands on activities to help them build their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

EOC Issues Report on Time Students Spent Testing

Concern over the amount of time students spend testing is not new or unique to South Carolina. In a new report issued in December 2015, the Education Oversight Committee (EOC) staff worked to quantify how much time students spend testing in public schools. Of the 82 school districts, 39 school districts agreed to participate.

Phyllis Sabatini is the active, 89-year-old matriarch of her close-knit Italian American family. As she watches her daughter struggle to care for everyone from nine to 90, Phyllis makes a radical decision to move into assisted living. Phyllis Sabatini realizes that leaving home is difficult at any age, but she learns that sometimes, the best way to say “I love you” is to say “goodbye.” (Repeats January 15 at 2:30 p.m. on ETVW.)

 

High School Student Production Awards - Southeast Emmy Chapter
