The National Geographic Bee is an annual competition organized by the National Geographic Society, designed to inspire and reward students' curiosity about the world. Students from 10,000 schools across the United States are competing in the 2017 National Geographic Bee for a chance to win college scholarships and the glory of being the National Geographic Bee Champion.

Congratulations to Connor Fraley from Florence, SC, for being our SC champion! Conner is an 8th grade student at Williams Middle School in Florence School District One. He is one of the 54 students who will compete in the 29th annual National Geographic Bee held May 14-17, 2017 at National Geographic’s Washington, D.C., headquarters.

The final round of the championship will air on South Carolina ETV on Monday, May 22 at 5:00 p.m.

Journalist and humorist Mo Rocca hosts the 2017 National Geographic Bee, which features fourth to eighth graders vying for the Bee crown and the top prize of a $50,000 college scholarship and lifetime membership in the National Geographic Society.
