Breaking the Silence of Bullying – NEW in ETV’s StreamlineSC
October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and ETV’s free online resources are a source for bully prevention video programs that can raise awareness about bullying and identify ways to stop bullying before it starts.
Breaking the Silence of Bullying is now part of StreamlineSC. Recommended for grades 9-12, this program is a video adaptation of the original dramatic play written by Dr. Beverly Boone. The play and video program, which is approximately 16 minutes in duration, were created to open dialogue on the worldwide problem of school bullying as experienced by a student who bullies and his victim.
The video program is available online for SC high school teachers to use with their students. Go to www.streamlineSC.org and search title: Breaking the Silence of Bullying. If your school would like to use the script to produce the play at your school, please contact Dr. Boone at email@example.com.
Beverly Boone, PhD is a native of Troy, NC. Her interest in writing and reading inspired her to earn a B.S. degree in Secondary English Education at AT&T State University, Greensboro, NC. After a long career as a high school English teacher, she continued her education in Raleigh at NC State University, earning two degrees: a Master's of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration, and a PhD in Educational Research and Policy Analysis. In addition to serving 20 years as an English instructor, she has also enjoyed a long career as a principal for multiple public school districts in NC and SC, as well as Director of Professional Development/Gifted Education Services at the District Office level.
