Kim Sullivan is the Assistant Director of Operations and Content at the SCETV Beaufort location working throughout the four counties the SCETV Lowcountry serves including Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton, and Hampton. She will be working closely with the USC-Beaufort faculty and students that are using the facility, to offer several media related academic programs.
Prior to her start with ETV, Sullivan had a very successful career in education, both as a National Board Certified Arts Educator and art studio owner. She assisted with writing state standards for the South Carolina Department of Education in both visual and media arts, taught integrated arts and technology classes at all levels and has remained active in local and state arts organizations. Sullivan went on to receive third runner up at Mrs. America in 2009 after being crowned Mrs. SC America representing her home county of Newberry. During that time she began “DARLA; Developing Arts Resources and Literature for Adoptees”, a non-profit for adopted and fostered children in SC to assist with free or reduced cost arts classes in their home communities. She represented the U.S. Education Department as a Fulbright Educator to Japan, and has been a grant writer for both state and corporate entities.
After moving to Beaufort two years ago, Sullivan worked as the Executive Director of the Beaufort Arts Council and opened her studio and destination painting business, “A Brush Across America”.
